How to Join on the Day

All Expeditions start and end in Fowey. Times vary so that we avoid strong tidal flows. Please arrive early, give yourself plenty of time to park, change your clothes, and walk to the boathouse in Passage Street, next to the Lifeboat Station.

We will supply you with a canoe, help you to choose the correct paddles and buoyancy aids, and help you to launch. When you feel confident, and everyone is ready, we set off up the river. You are always accompanied by the safety boat and we help you to paddle or motor along at your leisure.

Getting to us

If you're driving to us you may want to get accurate step by step directions from the AA Route Planner via their website. You can find it here: http://www.theaa.com/travelwatch.

Alternatively, you may also find it helpful to look us up on Multimap here: http://www.multimap.co.uk/foweyriverexpeditions.

Directions

FOWEY is reached from the A390. From St. Austell turn right at the roundabout sign posted Par and Fowey. From Lostwithiel turn left after one mile sign posted Fowey, and follow the road to the roundabout at "Four Turnings" on the outskirts of Fowey, then follow the signs to the Bodinnick Ferry and park at the ferry (Caffa Mill car park). Walk 150 yards into Fowey to our boathouse in Passage Street, just before the Lifeboat Station, on the right (if you drive through Fowey we are located on the left immediately after the Lifeboat House, drive past and walk back from the car park).
